Welcome to

Year 1/2 – Mrs Whitfield

Hello and welcome to 1/ 2 W’s class web page.

Mrs Whitfield will be teaching the children for most of the week supported by Mrs Egerton- a Teaching Assistant. Miss Riley and Mrs Jones will also be working with the class, during the week. We have all been working with children for a long time and just love working with Key Stage 1 children. We especially love our fantastic phonics sessions and seeing the children begin to apply the ‘special friends’ to their writing.

Our classroom

The children have made a fabulous start to the new school year and have settled into our class very well. They thoroughly enjoyed sharing their summer holiday challenges with their friends, on the first day back. These beautiful gardens are now on display in our classroom. Already, the children are happily following our daily routines and have been showing lots of kind deeds. It’s been fantastic to see the children thrive and enjoy their learning so early in the school year. We are enjoying getting to  know each of the children.  Throughout the year we will be helping each child to embody our school values and be ‘vibrant, loving and proud’ ensuring that they reach their full potential.

PE Days

Our PE days this half term are Thursday and Friday. Please ensure that your child arrives at school wearing their PE kit on these days No jewellery too please. When the children are doing gymnastics or dance lessons in the hall, they require a pair of black PE pumps so it would be a good idea to send a pair of pumps into school with your child’s name on
